In my last post I forgot to mention that there is another option for making hexies that does not involve basting which is to use a sewline glue pen like this.
I ended up making two coasters from 1 inch hexies. I made 4 hexie flowers and joined two back to back with ladder stitch. I added a running stitch to one to further secure the two sides together but I'm not entirely happy with my imperfect stitching so left the other as is. Each side is different.
These will look cute as accents under a vase of flowers though the main reason I went for coasters is because I wanted something to put under my cup on the hardwood floor, when I am sitting in my chair crafting with a cuppa!

Very cute. Boy I love those colours. That's it I have decided that I will be using those colours for my lap rug for next winter!
