"I Would rather sit on a pumpkin, and have it all to myself, than be on a crowded velvet cushion"
Henry David Thoreau.
Well for someone who put no thought into nor much effort into growing pumpkin I do find myself with More pumpkin then ever before. Look at the marvellous different shapes, colours and textures of these three pumpkins bestowed upon me.
The blue thank you to my next door neighbour, the butter nut thank you to my back fence neighbour and the green thank you to my compost bin from where it sprouted of its own accord grew long and gave me one gorgeous Fruit!
Now its just a pity that no one here likes pumpkin too much. I'll eat it without a problem, I'd even go so far as to say I enjoy it, the Mr. will eat it, the kids will eat it ...as long as they don't know what it is!
So I'm thinking Pumpkin Bread, Pumpkin Scones, Pumpkin Soup ( just for Me ) I'll probably roast and then freeze some ...
Lots of pumpkin in our future now my only real problem is deciding which one to cut first!
The colors are wonderful. Enjoy!!
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful colors! :) When we lived in Canberra, I swear, we must've eaten zucchini just about every way imaginable! Zucchini bread, fried zucchini, baked zucchini, zucchini in pasta sauce, etc. LOL, good times! :)
ReplyDeleteTammy, would the kids go for pumpkin muffins? Maybe a bit of brown sugar, mixed spice or nutmeg in the mix.
ReplyDeleteOh wow they look wonderful, the different colours are amazing. Other than what you mentioned i cant think of any other recipes to give you apart from a pumpkin and prune cake-sounds awful doesn't it, i have never made it.
