Remember these from last week's My Creative Space?
I did it ... transformed them into a bag.
Thanks to Lucy Bowler for the button closure idea!
I kept as much of the original structure of the dresses as I could. The gathering and pockets for example. I made a mistake in the sewing of the button top, with an unplanned fold but I really like it! I couldn't get the fold out of the fabric (in the strap) where the hem had been. I opted to keep one of the original garment tags in the lining, it makes me smile. The tiny pockets are a neat fit for my phone and my rarely used bloom lipsticks. If you click on this photo pile pic it should pop up bigger if you want a better look.
Here I am in the bad light of our entry hall, yesterday afternoon.
I plan to try and replicate it with fabrics of my choosing on a smaller scale. I'm feeling so proud of myself for achieving this and LOVE my new bag.
